With only 200 Euros per year
for a minimum of five years, a child can be helped.
Damages
in Indonesian region of Aceh are so tremendous that
it is impossible for children in this region
building themselves a safe future. DIV presidency
has therefore decided to arrange for children from
Aceh into regions not having been affected by this
tsunami, to integrate them into carefully selected
families there and financially support them.
We deliberately do not plan an orphanage - even for
children without relatives or children being ill -
as in Indonesia, different to Germany, family or
clan structure is very active - with help for each
other. Therefore children living in orphanage or
young persons have only very few possibilities to
work for their own living.
Steps to undertake in Indonesia:

Currently our local partners in Indonesia are searching for families, who want to look after a children or want to take in a child

During March 2005 families being interested and relevant state authorities will be contacted and families carefully selected

as soon as possible the children from Aceh will be integrated into these foster parents or presented the people wanting to look after the children
-
integration and development of these children will be looked after by us locally and continuously into the future
After you will have decided to take over a sponsorship we will discuss and sign with you a sponsorship agreement. After your godchild has been integrated into the local family, you will receive from DIV e.V. all wanted information.
Godchilds do want to contact and communicate with the godparents
therefore:
please give a hand to the tsunami victims and take over a
parenthood.
